A Spiritual Journey: Preparations On for the Festivities of St. Mary's Basilica, Shivajinagar.

Bangalore, August 21, 2024: The annual Feast of St. Mary's Basilica, a cherished religious event in Bangalore, is fast approaching with great anticipation. This year, the festivities will be marked by special events, culminating in the grand feast day, a tradition deeply rooted in the hearts of the faithful. The Novena begins on August 29 and the feast of the Birthday of Mother Mary will be celebrated on September 8.

The Novena, a nine-day period of prayer, will set the spiritual tone for the feast, with daily masses and the ritual of flag hoisting. These days will draw pilgrims from near and far, uniting them in prayer and devotion.

The Feast of St. Mary's is not just a religious occasion but a cultural event that brings together people from all walks of life. Highlights include an open-air mass and a car procession, expected to attract large crowds.

To ensure a smooth and safe celebration, meticulous preparations are underway. Police protection, traffic control, cleaning operations, uninterrupted power and water supply, and medical facilities are being organized. Extra buses will be arranged, and railings will be installed for easy access to the shrine. The involvement of Hon’ble MLA Mr. Rizwan Arshad, BBMP, BWSSSB, BESCOM, City Police and other government officials underscores the significance of the event. The Feast of St. Mary’s Basilica remains a beacon of faith, hope, and unity for all.
