Bangalore, December 1, 2019: The beginning of a new liturgical year in the Archdiocese specially marked the inauguration of the newly built Archdiocesan Retreat Center called DIVINE MERCY RETREAT CENTER. The inauguration of the newly built retreat center took place at Our Lady of Lourdes Church campus in Cambridge Layout, Halasuru at 5:30 pm.
Archbishop Emeritus Most Rev. Dr. Bernard Moras cutting the ribbon inaugurated the spiritual house. Most Rev. Dr. Peter Machado, the Archbishop of Bangalore blessed the same and presided over the Holy Eucharist. Archbishop Peter in his homily said that, today is an apt day to inaugurate the center as it's the first Sunday of advent.
Quoting the verse from the Book of Isaiah, the Archbishop said "Retreat center is indeed the mountain of the Lord where we meet the Lord" The center will be instrumental in transforming lives... I'm sure that transformed lives bear a powerful testimony to many people to come in personal encounter with Christ and Church. the prelate added.
As only the first phase of the work is completed, the prelate asked more number of benefactors to be generous in their contributions for completing the work for the greater glory of God. The divine mercy retreat center will operate in collaboration with Archdiocesan evangelization and proclamation commission under the leadership of Fr Antony Prasad and Bangalore Catholic Charismatic Renewal Services (BCCRS). Many priests, religious and the faithful witnessed this great event.
