Archdiocese Gears Up for Mission Month 2024: A Call to Renew the Spirit of Mission

In anticipation of the upcoming Mission Month of October 2024, the Archdiocese of Bangalore has commenced its preparations under the guidance of Archbishop Peter Machado. A key organizing committee meeting was held recently, bringing together the Archbishop, the auxiliary bishops, the President and Vice President of the Conference of Religious India (CRI), as well as priests, religious, and lay faithful who are involved in the various missionary works of the Archdiocese representing many others.

During the meeting, Archbishop Peter Machado emphasized the importance of collaboration and the shared responsibility of every religious and lay member in advancing the mission of the Church. He reminded the gathering that the mission belongs to everyone and each person’s contribution is vital in spreading the Gospel.

The meeting also focused on the finalization of the Mission Month Calendar, which was thoughtfully decided in consultation with all members present. It promises to be a spiritually enriching time, filled with events that will nurture both personal and communal growth in the mission spirit. This preparatory meeting marks the beginning of what is set to be a deeply spiritual and renewal-filled Mission Month, where the Archdiocese will once again demonstrate its dedication to spreading the Gospel and living out Christ’s mission.

Let us move forward with the same spirit, united under the guidance of our Blessed Mother, as we embark on this month of spiritual renewal and missionary outreach.
