The Women’s Cell of St. Jude’s Church, R.T. Nagar, Bangalore, marked its inaugural event with a day of inspiration, faith, and empowerment on Sunday, January 26, 2025. The gathering commenced with a special Mass at 11:00 a.m., presided over by Fr. Johnson SMM and Rev. Fr. Vinoo Fabian, the Parish Priest. The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 200 women from the parish community.
The highlight of the event was an engaging session by Mrs. Monica Antony, Principal of St. Germain’s Academy, Bangalore, who delivered an inspiring talk on "The Role of Women in the Church." She encouraged women to embrace their God-given potential and play an active role in faith and community-building.
Mrs. Monica led an introspective activity that underscored the vital role of women in God’s creation. She emphasized the importance of daily scripture reading, prayer, and active involvement in the Church’s mission. Addressing common misconceptions about women’s roles in family and society, she shared personal experiences to break stereotypes and inspire confidence.
Drawing from both the Old and New Testaments, she highlighted the contributions of biblical women and urged the attendees to explore their inner strengths. She also cited the example of Prophet Ezra’s dedication to scripture, stressing the transformative power of reading and reflecting on the Holy Word.
The session concluded with a panel discussion, where women shared insights, posed questions, and suggested ways to enhance their engagement in parish activities. The event ended with a community lunch in the church premises, fostering unity and leaving participants deeply motivated to contribute to the Church and society in meaningful ways. This inaugural event set the foundation for an active and engaged Women’s Cell at St. Jude’s Church, inspiring women to step forward in faith, service, and leadership.
