Earth Day Challenge by Archdiocesan Youth Commission

Bangalore, April 1, 2021: World Earth Day will be celebrated all across the globe on the 22nd day of April 2021. To mark the occasion, Yuva Chetana, the Youth Commission of the Archdiocese of Bangalore has embarked upon an ambitious project “Earth Day Challenge: Each One Plant One” and has urged people to plant 30 / 20 / 10 saplings or plants during the month of April.

In order to make the event memorable and attractive the Yuva Chetana suggests that people who are desirous of participating in the project are requested to register by filling an online form. Participants are free to plant saplings or plants in their local precincts. However, those who could not find sufficient space in their surroundings, the volunteers of the Youth Commission would be pleased to plant a sapling on your behalf on a remittance of a sum of Rs 50/- (Fifty Only).

This invitation to plant a sapling is not only restricted to individuals but groups from parishes and colleges are also welcome to take active part in this mission to save the earth. All the participants will be recognised and issued a certificate of appreciation. Ten distinguished awards have been set aside to honour the best participant said Fr. Anil D’Sa, SDB, Secretary of the Commission.

It is requested that those participating in this mission may please record a 30 second video of their sapling activity and forward the same to the Mr Nevin (7829777135) by Watts App. We also exhort them to take adequate care of the planted sapling everyday by nurturing them and protecting them from the vagaries of nature.
