Archbishop Rev Peter Machado installed Fr. Martin Kumar in office as Rector and Parish Priest of St. Mary's Minor Basilica at a concelebrated mass on June 15th at 6pm. The Prelate congratulated the outgoing rector Fr John Rose and wished Fr Martin the blessings of Mother Mary in pastoring the faithful. In his message to the congregation the Archbishop while appreciating the people's devotion, urged the Faithful to make the Basilica a place of worship and avoid superstitious practices that tend to disturb genuine devotion. Vicar General Msgr C Francis was also present for the installation.
