The inauguration of the Women’s Cell at St. Jude Church, R.T. Nagar, Bangalore, took place on January 5th, 2025, during the 7:00 AM Sunday English Mass, celebrated by Parish Priest Fr. Vino Fabian. This remarkable initiative is guided by the Catholic Women’s Collective, aiming to empower women spiritually, socially, economically, and culturally, enabling them to live lives of dignity and respect.
During the Mass, Fr. Vino Fabian emphasized the Church’s commitment to promoting the holistic development of women in alignment with Christ’s teachings of love, service, and equity. Following the Eucharistic celebration, the inauguration ceremony included an oath-taking ceremony, where members pledged their dedication to uplifting women within the parish and the broader community.
The Women’s Cell envisions itself as a platform to foster solidarity among women, protect women’s rights, and promote their dignity in every sphere of life. With its motto inspired by Christ’s unconditional love, the Cell plans to initiate programs focusing on:
Spiritual Enrichment: Organizing retreats, Bible study sessions, and prayer gatherings to strengthen the faith of women.
Social Awareness: Conducting workshops and discussions on women’s rights, health, and family welfare.
Economic Empowerment: Providing skill development programs, entrepreneurship training, and financial literacy sessions.
Cultural Engagement: Encouraging women to participate in cultural activities that promote unity and shared values.
This step by St. Jude Church is a significant stride towards empowering women to play a more active role in both the Church and society. By upholding the values of equity, solidarity, and love, the Women’s Cell will serve as a beacon of hope, guiding women toward realizing their potential and becoming agents of positive change.
May the St. Jude Women’s Cell flourish in its mission, bringing about transformation inspired by the Gospel’s message of service and compassion.
