Bengaluru, March 14, 2024: A Spiritual Lenten Pilgrimage was organized by Sacred Heart Church in Bangalore to inspire and cultivate spirituality among the youth. The pilgrimage, which took place on March 10th, 2024, saw around 45 youngsters sacrificing their Sunday holiday to embark on a transformative journey through 14 different churches in the city.
Led by the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Joseph Susainathan, the pilgrimage began at Sacred Heart Church and continued to various churches across Bangalore. The aim was to provide the youth with a unique and meaningful experience during the Lenten season.

The highlight of the pilgrimage was the 14th station, which took place at the clergy home in the Archbishop’s house campus. Here, the youth participated in the stations of the cross, adoration, sacrament of reconciliation, and the Holy Eucharist. Many of them found the experience to be deeply spiritual and enriching.
The Archbishop of Bangalore, Most Rev. Dr. Peter Machado, surprised the youth by meeting them at the clergy home. He inspired them to be agents of change in the world and offered a special prayer for their spiritual journey. The event concluded with the Archbishop's blessings in the presence of Rev. Fr. Joseph Susainathan and other priests of the archdiocese.
Overall, the Spiritual Lenten Pilgrimage was a profound experience for the youth of Sacred Heart Church, providing them with a deeper understanding of their faith and a renewed sense of purpose.
