Women's Day celebrations at Our Lady of Assumption Church, Rajajinagar

Bangalore, March 7th 2020: On the wake of International Women's Day, Our Lady of Assumption Church, Rajajinagar of Jalahalli Deanery celebrated the auspicious occasion with an apt celebration.


Dr. Patricia Sebastian, Oncologist at CMC Hospital, Vellore, Tamil Nadu, graced the program as the Chief Guest. She emphasized on the empowerment of women and girl children. Dr. Patricia also highlighted the causes of cancer and the awareness we need to create in order to prevent it. She stressed upon the breast cancer that the women is facing today.



Rev. Fr. Prem Arokianathan, the Parish Priest of Our Lady of Assumption Church, Rajajinagar, addressed the gathering. In his address, he shed light upon how women face discrimination in the society in every fields. "God has created women in His likeness but today women across the globe have been looked upon like objects." He added.


More than 200 people from the parish as well as other parishes of the Deanery took part in the celebration.
